Device Engineer InternGsk Jul 2015 - Aug 2016Ware, Hertfordshire, United KingdomIndustrial placement, which involved design and development of parenteral medical devices. As part of the development process I was conducting research and generating concepts, which I modelled in a CAD software (Creo/Pro-E), and then performed analysis for prediction of behaviour of such model/system using FEA, CFD and/or developed mathematical models for such systems. My work was also including designing of experiments to validate my models/show proof of concept, as well as present and disseminate the results throughout the department. My work at GSK also involved consulting different teams on the challenges that they were having, what kind of test can be run to confirm what is the problem and how to resolve it. -
Summer Research StudentInsigneo Institute For In Silico Medicine Jun 2014 - Aug 2014Sheffield, United KingdomI won a funding via the SURE scheme for a short research, during which I was working with the research staff in the INSIGNEO Institute for in silico medicine. There I did an individual research on cancer cells involving design and manufacture of a microfluidic device to test viability of circulating cancer cells in variable conditions. The microfluidic device is lab-on-a-chip system, which is usually fabricated from elastomers using rapid prototyping to create a low-cost, down-sized model for analysis, fluid/particle manipulation, and micro-environment simulation.During my research I was able to create a unique and viable device, which recreated a cancer environment and allowed me to analyse the effect of shear stress and surface rigidity on circulating cancer cells.
