While the schools can do a great job of giving children meals during the school day, many children face weekends and summers without having enough food to have three good meals each day. The founders of Mercy Cares first started addressing this issue more than ten years ago by leading a group of church volunteers to adopt a school. One of the needs that was identified by school officials, were the many children who needed extra food in their homes during the weekend. School officials identified the children who needed help and the group started collecting food to send home in backpacks with the selected children each weekend. Other schools heard of the program and asked for help for some of their students. Soon, there were more students who needed extra food than what the group could feed. Because of the need to seek outside donations, the Mercy Cares was formed as a 501 (c)(3) non profit.

Rod's Production Services was a privately held gas well services company. The company was sold to New Source Energy, L.L.P. in June 2014. RPS specializes in gas well testing equipment rentals and well flow rate measurement services. Annual revenues were approximately $40mm for fiscal 2014. RPS used approximately 100 employees and contractors.I provided leadership of this start up entity through hands-on management of all day-to-day financial and accounting operations, including building a team administrative professionals. Our team was charged with financial statement preparation, financial forecasting, daily billing, weekly payroll and vendor related transaction processing, banking relationship development, DOT compliance and data analysis.• Drafted and implemented Standard Operating Procedures and internal controls to instill integrity in reporting, inventory control and capital assets tracking. • Instilled "Esprit de corps" throughout with accounting services support to the operations team. • Assumed oversight of the HR function to provide employee development programs and valuations.• Implemented a national procurement program which insured consistent operating costs nationally.• Reduction in risk management expenses and auditing fees.• Lead liaison duties between legal counsel/external audit firms and company owners.• Leadership and execution of strategic plans led to geometric growth.

Clarke Products, Inc. is a multi-location continuous process manufacturer of whirlpool bath tubs that were sold primarily to to wholesale suppliers in the “New Home” market. CPI generated $20mm in revenue with 100-125 employees.I was directly responsible for establishing critical internal controls across multiple manufacturing locations. I developed statistical, financial, job costing and accounting information for data analysis procedures. My staff and I analyzed actual results versus budgets and forecasts to enable accurate business planning and forecasting. I partnered with Owners to lead the company through the economic downturn of 2008.• Oversaw and maintained financial and operational compliance consistency with regulatory bodies.• Increased productivity by assisting in designing and implementing inventory control and production scheduling software tailored to a continuous process manufacturing environment.• Lead liaison between legal counsel/external audit firms and company owners.While at Clarke Products we were facing several production, logistics and inventory issues which in turn had an impact on customer service, profits and financial statement preparation. I contracted with programmers to re-write the ERP code in our system. We interviewed customer service personnel to determine the extent of repercussions related to the problem. We obtained more information from procurement personnel and manufacturing personnel and enlisted their participation in developing inventory control software and production scheduling software. We worked with Engineering to improve and increase the use of robotics and bar code labeling in the manufacturing process.These programs resulted in improved delivery times, improved inventory control, fewer transportation delays, reduced transportation costs, lower labor per unit costs and improved accuracy in inventory valuation which resulted in improved accuracy in financial statement reporting, forecasting and budgets.

B-Square was a privately held company that specialized in manufacturing firearms accessories and gunsmith tools. Revenues were approximately $4mm. It was sold to Armor Holdings in 2002.

Armor Accessories was a subsidiary of Armor Holdings. AA Inc specialized in the manufacture of and distribution of shooting sports accessories. It generated $10-$15mm in revenue with 50-75 employees.Partnered with new Corporate Management after acquiring B-SQUARE, Inc.to drive rapid company growth and expansion from $3.5M to $13M in annual revenue. Handled all critical aspects of manufacturing and distribution, including customer/product sales analysis, budget preparation, variance analysis, M&A, new vendor sourcing, and payroll processing and reporting, logistics and customer service.
