After receiving my MSc degree in 2004 and my PhD degree in 2009, both in Electrical Engineering (MSc Control Engineering, PhD Biomedical Engineering) from the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands, I joined Xsens as a member of Xsens research in 2009. I gradually moved towards a role as Lead Engineer 3D body motion, establishing the connection between technology (newly developed building blocks) and product development. The general focus has been on sensor fusion algorithms for 3D motion tracking based on inertial sensing in combination with other sources of information including GPS, biomechanical models, etc.At the beginning of 2019, I moved to Bond3D International BV where I was leading the Software team. Bond3D focusses on the development of a new 3D printer to print high performance polymers. From October 1 2021 onwards, I started a new journey as VP of R&D at Moveshelf. In this promising startup, we serve healthcare with a digital platform for all (future) data on movement disorders, to enable objective and personalised care.
