• Direct the Citizen Diplomacy (aka Public Diplomacy) program to engage communities who have been directly and indirectly impacted by the US-Vietnam War (refugees, immigrants, second generation Vietnamese Americans, and veterans, etc) and those interested in supporting the organization’s mission. • Provide opportunities for these groups listed above to become involved in addressing war legacies, people-to-people connections, reconciliation, healing, mutual understanding, and peace building. • Develop the program to reach more individuals and strengthen relations between people in the US and Vietnam. • Conduct outreach in the US to increase awareness of the ongoing impacts of the war as well as engage the Vietnamese American community. • Innovate new platforms to engage younger generations. • Collaborate with partners: the US Embassy; local Vietnamese leadership; organizations, universities, etc, in the spirit of partnership building to achieve the organization’s mission. • Communicate with the Vietnam headquarters to organize, lead, and improve global Citizen Diplomacy Trips to Vietnam for people to participate in war legacy work, US-Vietnam diplomatic relations, and community-led humanitarian projects. • Bring U.S. delegations via the Citizen Diplomacy program to Vietnam. • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence while working in complex and politically sensitive settings. • Travel to Vietnam to support work in the country’s post-conflict areas where communities are recovering from the war. • Oversee the Citizen Diplomacy program as a platform to connect people to the organization’s humanitarian work related to the removal of explosive ordnance left from the war and community development projects on land after it has been cleared. Projects include those related to agriculture, early childhood education, water sanitation, etc.• Create new virtual and in-person local Citizen Diplomacy programming in the US related to war legacy and Citizen Diplomacy.

• Translate content from French to English to support the Geneva-based NGO in its mission of protecting the rights, health, and education of mothers, children, and babies in limited resource settings around the globe.

• Contribute to the NGO’s quadrilingual publications by translating articles from English to French and French to English on topics related to child rights around the world.

• Oversee services and programs to support the developmental needs of children and youth ages 0-18 experiencing homelessness. Populations served include refugees and asylum seekers who have fled persecution and who face high barriers to stability.• Supervise 6 to 11 direct reports across three shelter sites as well as hire, train, and mentor employees.• Build and maintain partnerships with organizations, schools, community groups, volunteers, agencies, etc.• Center children and youth voices and their participation in the creation of programs tailored for them.• Improve and expand quality early childhood development programming for ages 0-5 across five shelter sites.• Implement evaluation, create logic models, and assist with grants and annual operation reports.• Exhibit francophone skills when delivering services to French speaking refugee and aslyee families.
