In addition to my research duties, I was tasked with helping provide administrative support in implementing events on behalf of the Mosbacher Institute hosting various dignitaries and actors involved with public policy implementation.

Office Of State Representative Jimmie Don Aycock

As Chairman Aycock's Chief of Staff, I was tasked with organizing a Texas State Representative office. I was the lead on all hires within the office, managed the office budget and in conjunction with our Legislative Director set the legislative agenda for the office. Under Chairman Aycock's guidance during the 84th legislative session, our office was able to pass multiple bills that affected the landscape of public education in the state of Texas for years to come. Some of those included: HB 2804 to revamp the public education accountability system and creating a Commission on Next Generation Assessment, HB 1842 which looked to help find an answer to the few chronically underperforming schools in Texas and find creative solutions to helping turn around those schools, HB 18 which created a counseling initiative with the University of Texas to help train counselors to better meet the needs of students under House Bill 5's guidance for college and career training, and SB 925 which reestablished the Reading Academies for kindergarten through third grade.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

As a field representative for Attorney General Abbott, I visited 15 counties in north-central Texas for his 2014 election. During this time I was tasked with acquiring supporters, both financially and politically. I attended meetings with various political organizations while also holding individual meetings with politicians from my region.
