I’m a recent Design graduate from the University of Nottingham with experience collaborating across disciplines. Due to my background in an engineering, I have an appreciation for the environmental challenges facing design and production. My final university project surrounded the redesign of an inkjet printer, through which I carefully considered sustainability and the end user. I would be very interested in learning more about sustainable production processes and contributing to future solutions.Within university I gained experience of developing potential products from concept stages to final deliverables, and have created a range of report layouts and presentation materials to support my product designs. I have sought out many opportunities to educate myself and develop skills beyond the scope of my course. This has included modules within university, such as multiple Microsoft Office Specialist courses, providing me with a better foundation in Excel, Word and Powerpoint. I also enrolled myself in a module from the School of Architecture, focused on the culture and social context of design, as I was keen to learn more about the cultural sector and history.During my degree, I completed a placement year as Junior Graphic Designer at a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. As part of their in-house graphics department, I would often work on multiple requests at any given time, from external project reports and booklet layout to internal marketing campaigns and holiday graphics. I am very comfortable with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, while also taking time to develop additional skills including Premiere Pro and After Effects. I feel I have a methodical approach to tasks and can pick up new software and processes efficiently.
