As Director, I partnered with the Vice President of Marketing to ensure a healthy 3-5 year pipeline of product ideas are planned and executed to deliver on growth, earnings, cash & margin targets. This role was very rewarding in that it provided ample opportunity to learn the CPG category, trends and pace. I challenged current thinking and co-created new initiatives to take the Mars Petcare Specialty business in the right direction globally. I oversaw a team of talented project Managers who organized cross functional partners to deliver results on the bottom line once project initiatives were committed in business plans.

As Senior Project Manager, I created, developed and owned project master plans for major innovation and renovation activities. Key responsibilities were capturing Critical Success Factors (CSFs), deliverables, timelines (MS Project) and resources required from all functions necessary to execute to market with quality and speed. I facilitated weekly project meetings to develop and maintain these plans. Success in this role was identifying and facilitating all interdependencies within project plans and driving resolution of conflicts. I successfully managed a vast array of projects from start to finish including the formulation of timelines and milestones as well as extensive coordination with departments such as IT, Distribution Center/Parts Plant Operations, Call Center, Purchasing, and Logistics in order to meet organizational goals. This role allowed me the freedom to make decisions, take action and produce measurable results. For a couple of years, I supervised 2-4 employees that performed project maintenance tasks. I was instrumental in the interview selection process and job performance evaluations. I dealt with ambiguity at the start of each project and moved swiftly to define business objectives and deliver a detailed plan for a successful outcome. I revitalized a number of internal system applications to streamline Supply Chain processes such as customer emergency order resolution, supplier compliance and system part maintenance. Additionally, I gained notable experience routinely building system queries for fast access to large amounts of key data used for business decisions.

In this role, I became an expert at identifying and eliminating waste in processes and procedures. My areas of focus were Plant Receiving, Operations Scheduling, Workflow Processing and Inventory Management. When I started in this role, organizational metrics for inventory integrity and receipt error were coded red. Over the course of 2 years, I developed and implemented a number of lean initiatives to optimize work flow, standardize work and turn metrics around to sustain solid performance moving forward. I calculated, reported and tracked monthly warehouse capacity as well as yearly space model forecast for Site Director to utilize for future site space planning.

I supervised a team of 6 dynamic employees who consistently produced the department's best metrics in terms of supplier performance, customer part availability, lean inventory practices, demand planning, and forecast management. I encouraged professional development of direct report employees through regular coaching sessions, performance appraisals, training course suggestions, and career path recommendations. I developed and facilitated onsite Supplier Training Seminars for new vehicle launches instructing suppliers in Quality, Contractual commitments, Scheduling, EDI, Transportation, and Compliance. In addition to managing my department, I took the initiative to streamline the European supply chain through enhancing the order system, leveraging the logistics provider, cultivating supplier relationships, negotiating new order cycles and creatively addressing compliance issues. During the department launch of new MRP system to manage demand, forecasts, scheduling and safety stock for 1000 suppliers, I quickly became a Subject Matter Expert and thereafter provided formal training.
