I enforce protocol for PCI through training, coaching, and mentoring. I write and submit any Dirty Work Permits, listing the housekeeping, cleaning, and containment requirements for work being performed in the cleanroom on site. I developed an Excel spreadsheet listing all DWPs held by Performance Contracting in order to track which are open, as well as which are expiring soon. Daily, I perform audits of the company’s various material storage areas and work locations, making certain that everything is in clean condition, that there are no prohibited items, and that if there is any “dirty work” being performed, it is being done within the guidelines listed on the Dirty Work Permit and set forth by GlobalFoundries. I attend weekly protocol meetings and audits, and in turn hold my own protocol meetings with all of the different crews Performance Contracting has on site in order to pass down new information and updates that pertain to them. I coordinate with GlobalFoundries Protocol to ensure that Protocol specifications are being met at all times by PCI employees.

As a protocol engineer, I taught GlobalFoundries’ Cleanroom Protocol Training Class to construction contractors and vendors, so that they may understand acceptable behavior and standards in the cleanroom. I ensured that cleanroom protocol was adhered to at all times by auditing contractors who were performing dirty work within the cleanroom, performing visual inspections to ensure cleanliness, and performing particle excursion testing in the cleanroom. In addition to my daily tasks as a protocol engineer, I ensured that my fellow team members also perform their duties. I led pass-down meetings between day and night shift every evening, as well as a weekly full staff pass-down meeting. I also performed various environmental tests including particle excursions, air velocity testing, and temperature and humidity recording. I reviewed and approved permits for any “dirty work” being performed in the cleanroom, and ensured that all dirty work was contained appropriately as to avoid the spread of contamination.
