The sessions are intended to promote collaborative learning and provide an opportunity to share my own experiences and experience with the students.

I am predicted to graduate in July 2022 with a First Class BSc in Forensic Investigation, accredited by The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.Throughout my studies I have worked with a range of laboratory equipment to allow me to undertake many forms of forensic analysis such as: Low, High Power and Fluorescence Microscopes, Glass Refractive Index Measurement Systems, Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometers and Scanning Electron Microscopes.I have also completed many stimulated investigations in The Crime Scene Training Facility House such as sexual assaults, aggravated burglary, missing persons, suicide, accidental deaths and homicides.

I was one of very few people to be chosen to work in this role alongside studying for my degree. I have received further First Aid Training, Crime Reduction Training, Conflict Training and attended Cyber Crime Awareness Training. This role allows me to volunteer for events for the South Wales Police Force and expand my knowledge in all aspects of policing, communication skills and understanding of different scenarios and how to deal with them in an appropriate manner.

I took part in a 2 year programme with Herefordshire Police Cadets. This programme allowed me to gain insight into the police and also community engagement skills. I conducted several hundreds of hours of community work which involved leading Community Engagements Activities, taking part in Operations with other Partner Agencies, Bike Marking, Crime Prevention Talks, Sexting Talks with High School Children, Fundraising and taking part in two Rural Crime Operations, Remembrance Parade, High Sheriffs Dinner Party, Patrolling, Dying To Drive, Crucial Crew, School Events, the Shrievalty Service and CCTV work. These allowed me to gain insight into all different aspects into the police, not just an officer’s role, but the PCSO’s role of community engagements and talks within schools. I also learnt how to communicate through the use of a radio, complete witness statements and engage with the community with different needs, such as blind or deaf people. I presented a Powerpoint on 'Sexting' to 5 groups of Year 10's who all learnt something to take away with them. As a Police Cadet, I held a pocket notebook for the duration of the scheme, keeping it up to date, neat and tidy. To this day, it is used as an exemplar for cadets in Hereford.

I gained experience in making enquires to various professionals and clients, using medical terminology. I received a manager's commendation after a phone call that evidenced my ability to communicate clearly, precisely, and patiently, in a diplomatic nature, with a distressed client. I communicate extensively by written communication, my skills are of high quality when writing up reports, as they may be used in court. I learnt how to use a CRM system effectively and efficiently and keep a large case load under control.

I learnt how to use a coffee machine, handle bookings, make and serve food and beverages, use technologies for placing orders and how to handle a variety of guests with different needs. I was awarded by 2 mystery guests 99% on my service on 2 different occasions and I also received Waiter Of The Month, beating competitors throughout the whole country. I was also the Christmas and Charity Planner. I planned, organised, promoted and successfully carried out several charity fundraisers and Christmas events at the Restaurant. I had to plan the event, be responsible for ticketing the events, the finances, the running of the event and the financial accumulation of money and distribution to the charities on completion of the event.
