Through LEAN processes, I use systematic problem solving to work safety related issues for Finished Production (manufacturing), Business Support (Warehouse and IT) as well as other groups within the plant. I am the safety representative for over half of our employees of our 800+. The "How can I help you?" customer service attitude is embraced in my daily work as customer service is a large part of the Site Service's work. A typical day involves improving processes, updating SOPs, problem solving, incident prevention and investigation, contractor orientation, employee training, ergonomic assessments, hazard risk safety assessments, EHS planning and much more. Through significant improvements in training and daily go-look-sees in the warehouse, we have been able to reduce warehouse safety incidents by 30% in the last two years of my time there. Outside my normal scope of work, I spent time working on the greater good of the plant through outlets such as encouraging our employees to take part in activities that could benefit them both in the work place as well as at home.
