My journey in healthcare began as a medical laboratory scientist. The desire to become more involved in healthcare systems and delivery led me to pursue a PharmD at the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy. There, I discovered my passion for medication safety, which led me to seek postgraduate training through the PGY1/PGY2 Medication Use, Safety, and Policy residency program at Froedtert Hospital.During residency, I built a strong skillset in clinical pharmacy and project management, as well as a greater understanding of operations, compliance, and quality improvement. I worked with different healthcare providers across specialties to address safety and compliance issues related to pain management and opioid use, medication errors, and formulary management. At Children's Wisconsin, my goals are to achieve and maintain compliance with USP <797> and USP <800> standards, as well as controlled substance requirements. At Froedtert Hospital, I manage immediate patient care needs as a clinical pharmacist. I find great fulfillment in improving care for individual patients and driving healthcare systems towards safer care for all patients.
