This position served as my entry point to sports business. Through the experience of this internship, and later, full-time work as the Marketing Assistant, I was able to grow in my understanding of sports marketing and the affairs of collegiate athletics.Primary sports of focus included: Football, Men's Basketball, Wrestling, Baseball, Softball, Women's Volleyball, Men's and Women's Gymnastics, Men's and Women's Tennis, Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving, Men's and Women's Track & Field, Women's Soccer, Women's Field Hockey, and Women's Rowing.

In a "total team effort", we launched the first Big Ten Network StudentU broadcasts at the University of Iowa. From set-up to tear-down and the producing, directing, and commentary in between, our group of students delivered Iowa Athletics events to viewers across the world.

In collaboration with fellow Daily Iowan TV students, we produced a nightly telecast and webcast focused around University of Iowa news, sports, and weather. My position as a Reporter served as an opportunity to gain in-the-field media and journalism training, which led to Anchor and Producer roles by way of a promotion to Sports Director in 2008. I was fortunate enough to cover Iowa Football's 2009 run to the FedEx Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, in addition to several hundred other on- and off- campus events.

Summer 2009, I spent 13 weeks in New York City, assisting the MLB Marketing & Advertising team in their work with Clubs on "eventizing" cause-related marketing efforts.
