I am a Public Affairs executive with a proven track record of building coalitions and developing comprehensive media strategies that influence politics and policy with specialty subject matter expertise in Energy, Environment and Higher Education. My expertise has been honed over the course of a diverse career that began with a decade of experience as a broadcast journalist. I was recruited from CBS 6 News directly into the Office of the Governor of New York to serve as a Press Officer for Governor Eliot Spitzer in January 2008. Within months, the office was engulfed in scandal and the Governor resigned. I stayed on in the office through the transition of administrations, and moved through a succession of roles to ultimately becoming Governor David Paterson’s Communications Director. Following my time in the office of the Governor, I served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Communications for the State University of New York (SUNY), the largest university system in the United States, in the Office of Chancellor Nancy Zimpher. I transitioned into the agency world by joining SKDK in 2011. At SKDK, I serve as a Managing Director and the Head of the Albany office and lead the development and execution of Public Affairs strategies across earned, owned and paid channels. I have won numerous awards during my time at SKDK including City & State New York Political PR Power 50 (2023 - #1); Albany Power 100 (2023 - #68); and City & State New York 40 Under 40 Rising Stars - Albany (2016).I received my Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. I am conversationally fluent in Spanish, and live in Albany, New York with my wife and three children.
