I have over 50 years of safety experience in the aviation and energy industries in a variety of operational, regulatory, investigative and leadership roles. As an instructor, I have taught in a wide range of settings, including pilot ground, flight and simulator instruction, aviation and industrial accident and incident investigation, and graduate-level business school ethics and strategy courses. I’ve conducted numerous aircraft accident, incident and enforcement investigations, as well as industrial event investigations (including both personal and process safety incidents), cyber and business performance investigations. I’ve served as a consultant and expert witness in matters of aviation operations, safety, regulatory compliance and risk management. My key areas of expertise are safety risk management, aviation regulation, human performance, and organizational and cultural factors. I like my work... it lets me learn new things, travel to new places and meet new people. But mostly, it gives me an opportunity to make a difference.
