I am currently a Grants Administrator Contracts Coordinator for the Commission on Equal Opportunities Contract Compliance Division with the City of New Haven. I monitor and evaluate public contractors for compliance with city, state and federal labor standards, equal opportunity guidelines and policies to ensure equal employment practices. I interpret equal opportunity regulations and labor standards for contractors seeking public construction contracts within the city. But my primary focus is equal employment and training opportunities in construction for females, minorities and local residents.Prior to this position, as a Utilization Monitor I conducted pre-construction meetings with contractors to determine compliance. I inspected all public construction in the City of New Haven for wage and workforce compliance. I also impose sanctions & fines on contractors for non-compliance.Overall, I have more than 10 years’ experience working in contract compliance governed by city ordinance. I have extensive training and knowledge of principles and practices of local, state and federal Labor Standards, CT Prevailing and Standard Wage Laws, Affirmative Action, Davis Bacon and Section 3 Regulations. I’m known by my colleagues to be very detailed, fair-minded and loyal. My integrity is non-negotiable. My work ethic, dependability and performance has been duly noted by three promotions during my tenure with the Commission.
