The focus of this company was to develop a Fibre Channel chip and a conversion card from Fibre Channel to SATA for two major companies. Responsible for IBM involvement in ANSI/ISO interface standards; e.g., IPI, HIPPI, and FC (Fibre Channel). Co-founded RAID Advisory Board to promote RAID. Storage architect on SAN and NAS. -- IBM voting representative on ANSI X3T9.3 (T11) from 1985 to 1997; ISO representative for T11 from 1994 to 1997; charter member and IBM voting member for the Fibre Channel Association (1992 to 1997) and Fibre Channel Loop Community (1995-1997); and, charter member and IBM voting member of RAID Advisory Board (1989 to 1997). As the IBM representative, was the primary editor for the IPI-3 Generic Command Set for Magnetic and Optical Disks and for Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop ANSI / ISO standards.-- Established and chaired Engineering Patent Review Board for AS/400 and Storage Subsystems. Served as consultant to IBM divisions and IBM customers on Interfaces and Storage related products (especially IPI, SSA, FC, and RAID).-- Responsible for the functional specification for AS/400.-- Developed high-level engineering language while on assignment to IBM Germany in Boeblingen (1982-1985).-- Manager of Diagnostic Engineering group (1975-1982) on System/38 and S/36.-- Diagnostic Engineer (1968-1975) development for IBM OCR products and architectural engineer on IBM Future Systems.-- Served on multiple industry and IBM task forces in both engineering and programming areas
