I have thirty years' experience in performing and visual arts management, serving in the top management position at the Long Island Philharmonic, Honolulu Symphony, and Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.At each orchestra I was hired to, and succeeded in, turning around a financial crisis and substantially upgrading the management capabilities of those orchestras.I have hands-on experience and success in all aspects of orchestra management including marketing and development, artistic administration and operations, finance, board development and management, education activities, contract negotiations (AFM and IATSE), strategic planning, and government affairs.The organizations that I have been fortunate to work for have varied greatly in size, scope, geographic location and culture giving me a broad perspective of the challenges facing the management of performing arts organizations as a whole.
