A key member of the senior executive team who set the strategy and managed the organisation on behalf of the profession.• Led the work which has changed how the government and NHS England view the contribution that pharmacists can make to the care of patients. This has moved from a perception that pharmacists work in hospitals, community pharmacies and laboratories onto one which understands the benefits of including pharmacists in new care settings such as GP surgeries, A&E departments, care homes and call centres. Achieved through the harnessing of policy, the production of reports, public affairs activity at many levels and gaining advocacy from professional and patient voices. • Instrumental in the change process that created the RPS from the previous regulatory organisation - the RPSGB. My part in that change was as the programme lead co-ordinating over 20 projects, covering IT, finance, product development and setting a new organisational culture. This used my skills as a project manager and my ability to communicate and network with key stakeholders.• Leading the RPS corporate functions of Public Affairs and Public Relations.• Engagement with other healthcare professions and advocacy within government, DH, NHS England and regulators.• Senior responsible director for high profile work including the RPS Medicines Optimisation (MO) principles and the RPS Transfer of Care guidance and the influential report Now or Never: shaping pharmacy for the future.• Representing the RPS and my profession at national boards and panels, such as the NICE Implementation Collaborative (NIC) board, the Professional Records Standards Body and the Summary Care Records Expert Advisory Panel. I was also appointed in June 2012 to the Poisons Board by the Home Secretary, a governmental advisory body providing guidance to ministers on the Poisons Act. I have also sat on the National Information Board´s Strategic Clinical Reference Group
