Postdoctoral Researcher, Fulbright Grantee
CurrentThe project is focused on temperature-dependent optical characterization and thermally in-situ induced structural changes monitored by optical, and photoluminescence methods using materials of high specific relevance for nonlinear optics (chalcogenide/tellurite glasses), mid-infrareddetectors (In-Ga-Ar-Sb alloys), and photonic applications (rare earth doped materials, MoS₂/MoSe₂ MoTe₂).
Member Of Central Committee
CurrentStudents` Professional Activities (SPA) is a traditional national contest for all kinds of high school students established in the former Czechoslovakia. Following and further expanding its predecessors such as Vocational technology conference and Nature Semper Viva contest, the SPA has been established in 1978. Since 1990, the SPA is in the Czech Republic founded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and annually organized and guaranteed by the National pedagogical institute of the Czech Republic. The contest is managed by a central commission while the panel of judging experts is supervised by a supreme jury.Since the early beginning, the SPA features scientific forum enabling young students to meet, discuss and compete. It especially focuses on talented students and their scientific projects currently falling within one of the eighteen branches across physical, formal, life, applied and social sciences as well as engineering. Hence, the SPA is prestigious and highly multidisciplinary contest which is primarily intended to encourage students to pursue a scientific and independent research in a selected field of study. The contest consists of school, district and regional rounds to which students submit their essay and subsequently defend their scientific outcomes in front of a jury. The candidates successfully passing these primary rounds will finally compete in a national round held every year in a selected town of the Czech Republic. The national round, held in early June, is generally attended by about three hundred attendees and their results and outcomes are judged by eighteen juries comprising of ninety teachers, academicians, researches and experts across the aforementioned branches. The juries pay particular attention to the invention, novelty, scientific level and own contribution of each work and competitor.
Editor In Chief, Journal Of The Asb Society
CurrentThe Journal of the Alumni Scientiae Bohemicae Society (JASB) is a pioneering publication set up to provide exclusively undergraduate, young professionals and high school students the opportunity to gain experience in scientific writing. It not only aims to alleviate the first contact hurdle with publishing pressure, but also to encourage and most importantly promote outstanding research by younger scientists. Another opportunity for submittees is to encounter proper writing form early on. All of this effectively leads to the simplification of possible future endeavors in impacted journals.
Co-Founder
CurrentASB society is a platform connecting students, young professionals, alumni with student organisations, companies and other institutions not only from the Czech Republic. Main aim is to provide support to young professionals and students from various research and education areas. ASB Society has over 100 members and several hundreds of collaborators and supporters. One of the biggest projects organized by ASB Society is Chemistry Race, chemistry-based team competition. Chemistry race is organized once in a year in cooperation with Cambridge University (Department of chemistry) and University of Pardubice (Faculty of Chemical Technology). Members of ASB Society also collaborate with Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MSMT) on annual preparation workshops. These workshops are focused on preparation of young professional and scientist for international competitions, such as European Union Contest for Young Scientists (EUCYS), Regeneron International Science and Engineering fair (ISEF), Interntional Wildlife Research Week, Swiss Talent Forum, etc.
Board Member, Chemiklání/Chemistry Race
CurrentChemistry Race is a chemistry competition for teams of 3-5 sixth-form students organised by the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge. The teams race against each other in solving chemistry problems; who gets the most points within the time limit, wins.
