I am a professional Engineer (Avionics) who worked in field engineering for the first 10 years of my professional career. The job varied from maintenance of COM/NAV facilities to aircraft maintenance, third level shop maintenance, radars and tactical communication links. I also had the opportunity to work for 3 years as logistics manager for defense systems with an inventory of more than 300,000 line items. In 1998, I had the opportunity to join the Frequency Allocation Board (FAB) of Pakistan for spectrum management. My stay at FAB made me choose a regulatory career which continues for more than twenty years now. I have worked with operators and regulators mainly in the field of spectrum management, licensing and regulations. I joined the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at its onset in early 2005 and presently working as the Senior Manager Spectrum Strategy. My other academic interests are studying management and competition issues.
