Working as Director of Project Management Department of Asia Metal Construction Company Limited for construction of large scale civil work projects such as Factories with facilities including tunnels of one Aluminum Alloy factory, two steel mills and rehabilitation of No.1 steel mill for the Government of Myanmar as well as supply/fabrication/installation of steel structure for two stadium sport center projects, Shwe Gas Field Development Project, China-Myanmar Pipeline project and two wheat flour factories and 10 residential / commercial / fuel pump station buildings with facilities for Private Construction Companies in Myanmar. My responsibilities and function of my duties include preparation of Construction Drawings related to Client’s approval for Designs, Priced Bill of Quantities, Technical Specifications, Method of Statements, Work Schedules, Material/Manpower/Equipment utilization schedules, Quality Assurance Control System and Good Health/Safety/Environment control system at working places, Contract Award and Processing, Inspection of work sites, Quality Assurance progress reports for cash flow system and payment terms. Procurement and project management procedures for civil works of ADB are being applied for daily operation of works with 50 National / International Engineers and the Government staff at AMC Head Office in Yangon.

Pauk Township, Magwe Division In Myanmar

Worked as a Project Director position with the Asia Metal Construction Company Limited for design, planning and implementation of construction of New Steel Mill at Pauk Township, Magwe Division in Myanmar, comprising of Smelting Workshop (300m x 155.3m x 20m) with Cranes, 63MN Extrusion Workshop and 20MN Forging Workshop (414m x 90m x 18m) with Cranes, Rolling (650 Wire Rolling) and Cold Drawn Workshop (576m x 150m x 18m) with Cranes and Acid Wash Building (90m x 24m x 16m) with cranes in which RCC bore piles, RCC spun piles/ RCC isolated footings/ foundations and steel structure were used in International Standard. Also construction of Aluminum Alloy Factory, comprising of Extruding Equipments Buildings (240m x 120m x 12m) + (36m x 18m x 26m) + (204m x 10m x 6m) with cranes and Smelter Casting Building (240m x 72m x 16m) with cranes with RCC isolated step deep footings and RC bole piles foundations and steel structure were executed in International Standard. Machine foundations for New Steel Mill and Aluminum Alloy Factory were properly installed. Six mile Road, one RCC Causeway, one 100 ft span RCC Bridge, 612ML Tunnel, 8 numbers RCC Box Culverts, one Helipad, one Briefing Hall, Office/ Camp buildings for about 1,000 manpower (National / International Engineers, Government / Company Staffs and working force) and heavy equipments including electricity and water supply as facility of project were accomplished.

Design, planning and implementation of No.5 Urea Fertilizer Plant Project for Myanmar Petroleum Enterprises (MPE) of Ministry of Energy in Myanmar.

June’ 2004 to July’2005: Worked with World Food Programme as Programme Assistant after completion of consultancy for implementation of Yangon International Airport Extension Project and No.(4) Urea Fertilizer Plant Project with Asia World Company as well as Civil Engineering Consultant for construction of multi-levels residential buildings and property development projects in Myanmar with INJYNN Development Company Limited.

Vientiane, Lao Pdr

September’ 1998 to October’2001: Worked with ADB/ MOE in Lao PDR as Engineer’s Representative / Regional Engineering Consultant for new buildings and civil construction works of Post Secondary Education Rationalization Project, ADB Loan No.1374-LAO (SF) at National University of Laos ( NUOL) , Dongdok campus, Vientiane. Duties and responsibilities were assisting to the PU/NUOL/MOE and ECS/MOE for procurement process with International Competitive Bids ( ICB) in preparing the international bidding documents, pre-qualification for bidders, bids evaluations, contract awards and establishment of project management for construction supervision of RCC typed road / administration building / multi-level lecture theatre / laboratory building with herbarium/green house / nine units of toilet blocks and chemical store including all facilities of water supply / drainage / sewage / electricity supply systems, land adjustment , development of 28,000 square meter sport ground especially soccer play ground in international standard and installation of 500 KVA electric transformer, training to counterpart engineers and architects in dealing with ICB and Contractor.

Vientiane, Lao Pdr

August’1994 to August’1998: Worked with UNV/UNDP/MOE in Lao PDR as UNV Civil Works Site Supervisor (LAO/V/655) for Education Quality Improvement Project (EQIP), ADB Loan No 1103 – LAO ( SF). Responsible for procurement processes and contract wards of civil works projects with Local Competitive Bids(LCB) and establishment of project management including on the job training programs to counterpart engineers through daily construction supervision of RCC typed six dormitories , two auditorium buildings , two classroom buildings, one administration building and one library including all facilities of furniture and water supply / electricity supply / sewage and drainage systems , installation of 20M x 30 cubic meter storage capacity steel water tower, three tube water wells, five electric pumps,75 cubic meter storage capacity RCC water storage ground tank, 250 KVA electric transformer for gravity flow water supply system and sufficient electricity supply at Teacher Training Colleges in Vientiane Prefecture.

March’1994 to July’1994: Worked with UNDP in Myanmar as Township Program Assistant for Human Development Initiative (HDI) Program, Project Support and Development Unit, MYA/93/035. One mission related to water and sanitation sector under Human Development Initiative Program in Inlay was conducted.

Lichinga, Niassia Province, Mozambique

December’ 1990 to February’1992: Worked with ILO/UNDP in Lichinga, Niassia Province, Mozambique as Resident Road Engineer for UNDP project, MOZ/89/B01 and responsible for design, planning and implementation of rehabilitation of 149KM gravel road from Linchinga to Mandimba including bridges / culverts. Monitored the activities of labor and equipment brigades for road and bridges construction in timely implementation of the project and made realistic assessment of materials requirement through forward planning of project activities without any interruption. Prepared monthly progress report, trained national counterparts and distributed systematically WFP food for works to the project task forces.

Sierra Leone, West Africa

December’ 1983 to March’1990: Worked with ILO/UNV/UNDP in Sierra Leone, West Africa as UNV Engineer (SIL/V/111) for project SIL/85/013, ILO supported Labor Intensive Rural Works Program in Bonthe District in conducting all aspects of design, planning and implementation of ILO support Labor Intensive Rural Works Program. Also I established local training program to government staff, village leaders and voluntary workers for selection of work sites , design , planning and implementation of works with labor intensive methodology and distributed systematically WFP foods for works and partial wages as incentive for voluntary workers.100KM feeder roads including one 60M span Bailey bridge at Bende Creek / 25 medium span bridges & RCC box culverts / 50 pipes culverts / health centre / primary school / 76 water wells were successfully implemented.

Myanmar

February’1976 to January’1982: Worked with Ministry of Industries II in Myanmar as Assistant Project Engineer and responsible for the construction of two fertilizer plants at Kyawzwa and Sale including 60KM road with bridges and Mann Oil Refinery Project for Technical Services Corporation ( TSC ). Also residential buildings , offices, access road with bridges / culverts / cause-ways / foreshores/jetty , ware –houses, health centers, drinking water wells , drilling rigs down-move-up and its foundations for various types of crude oil exploration, mass production for granite stone boulders by blasting, medium sizes earth dams and dykes , 10 inches diameter crude oil pipe line on land and submarine with two million gallons storage capacity metal fluid tank and pump houses were executed in exploration of crude oil at ten different remote areas in Myanmar for Myanmar Oil Corporation ( MOC) as Engineer In Charge (EIC).
