As Area Operations Manager, responsible to manage and improve all facets of the daily operations of the Northeast Region which consists of four nested locations in Il, WV, OH and KY and multiple projects/turnarounds throughout the region. Region consistently employs 260 – 400 Team Members depending on season and capital / turnaround activity and produces $40MM + in revenue annually. In this position, main focuses include ensuring Team Member safety, project execution, customer service, growth within our marketplace and P & L management. Report directly to the VP Operations.

Steadily promoted through roles of increasing responsibility and authority to assume senior management responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs for national provider of industrial and mechanical contracting services to the Oil & Gas industry. As Senior HSE Manager, perform comprehensive inspections of regions, collaborating closely with senior operations and safety leadership teams to identify HSE issues and devise solutions; meticulously track individual site compliance with governing corporate policies and environmental safety programs. Provide HSE leadership and mentoring for regional management teams during major capital construction projects and facility maintenance. Partner with business development teams to increase sales revenues; liaise effectively with corporate client leadership regarding HSE issues. Support legal teams in resolution of workers compensation and other claims. Report directly to General Manager HSE, Training and Crane and Rigging.

As North Region HSE Manager for multi-state region producing annual revenues of over $90M, held responsibility for safety budget administration, state and federal OSHA injury / illness reporting and classification, and KPI development for 14 nested maintenance jobsites as well as diverse capital projects and turnaround activities at non-nested sites. Conceptualized and launched continuous improvement initiatives based upon findings of root cause investigations, project readiness reviews, and statistical and applied behavior analyses. Reported to Corporate Director, Health, Safety and Environmental.

Earned two promotions following highly successful initial tenure as HSE Coordinator tasked with administration of workplace safety program, to ultimately manage safety performance for 3 jobsites comprised of a collective workforce of 250. Conducted thorough incident investigations, ensured compliance with OSHA recordkeeping requirements, and formulated / submitted recommendations to worksite and corporate management. Calibrated and improved risk identification and management controls; performed new hire orientation in areas to include confined space, basic rigging, and powered industrial truck operation.

Brought on board to optimize work site training programs, hazard identification, and remediation action planning for highly regarded industrial safety, health, and environmental program. Identified and documented workplace hazards and logged implementation of corrective actions; trained management and personnel in site-specific safety regulations, emergency preparedness procedures, and in the handling and storage of hazardous materials.

Honed expertise in safety project planning and management while coordinating HSE interventions for large-scale, deadline-critical activities including oil refinery shutdowns, coal-fired power plant shutdowns, and emergency environmental management response operations.
