The Control and Business Delivery team was a part of Old Mutual Wealth until ReAssure acquired the heritage business. The team works as a support function between the project teams and the back office teams and provides support with any process reviews and/or remediation projects. My role within the team has been mainly centred around Data Analysis, Data Cleansing and the maintenance of tools used by the back office teams. These tools are mainly run using macros either built or maintained by me. During 2021 I have also served as a mentor to a person that is looking to further their Excel skills.

During my time in the MI team, I worked as an analyst on both pre-existing reports as well as on ad-hoc requests from stakeholders. Reports were created in Microsoft Excel using data captured from Microsoft Access databases, Business Objects as well as SQL server. This provided me with experience in creating reports and dashboards in Microsoft Excel as well as basic understanding of SQL queries and data capture from Microsoft Access and Business Objects.

As a Pricing and MI assistant I provided support the actuaries by overlooking their mailbox function and assist with responses to queries and processing of data for their analysis.

I joined Old Mutual Wealth as a Customer Service Representative in their Life Money Out team as well as being cross skilled to process work for the Life Reviews team. The management in the teams supported me in building my Excel knowledge which then supported my progress within the company.

Resource Planning was processed through a tool built in Microsoft Excel where you would need to keep a close eye on the document throughout the day to ensure that there was enough coverage to process all deliveries planned for the following day. This would require a refresh of data regularly throughout the day as well as close communication with the drivers and their management team.

Processed client’s applications and input onto the system to bring them live. Had oversight of the close of New Business by overlooking the pipeline using Microsoft Excel databases to track the process of applications.
