Profile bio

About Hugh Asher

I am particularly interested in the beneficial effects of access to nature and participation in nature-based activities. My vision is to inspire people to improve the health and wellbeing of themselves, of others and of the planet, using nature and nature-connection activities to achieve this.I am particularly interested in using nature-connection activities to support the recovery of people with experience of problematic drug and alcohol use; people experiencing or recovering from mental health challenges; and nature-deprived populations, such as people who are housebound or in prison.During the Covid Lockdown I trained as a ‘Forest Bathing Guide’ to develop effective ways to inspire and help people to use their one hour outside a day to improve and support their mental and emotional health and wellbeing. Since then I have trained as a Forest Therapy Practitioner.Based in the Western Highlands in Scotland, I offer in-person and online Forest Bathing and Nature Connection activities and have a range of self-published books, booklets and guides to enable you to experience the benefits through self-guided Nature Connection and Forest Bathing walks.

Listed skills include Teaching, Organizational Development, Data Analysis, Qualitative Research, and 9 others.
