North London Cares' mission is to eradicate loneliness by connecting young and elderly people in their local community. During spring-summer 2019, the charity called on me to provide lessons on Spanish language and culture, creating a space for members of the community to socialise, have fun, and learn something new.

2 summer school placements leading classes for 15-18 yr olds. The programme involved English lessons in the morning at Imperial College, London and tourist activities in the afternoon. As a team of teachers, we built the syllabus around the tourist activity of the day to create an all encompassing, immersive learning experience.

I improved student experience and engagement by coordinating the social programme which often followed weekly events in London. This involved event planning, building surveys, and carrying out focus groups to help build the social calendar. Other than presenting and marketing the activities to the students, I also led all excursions outside the school.
