I joined Bill Smith Motors in 2011 having very little knowledge of the motorcycle trade however I had the benefit of a strong background in retail having worked for my fathers business. I started in the parts and accessories department after 12 months I joined the Sales team undertaking a much more administrative role. I look after all aspects of social media for the company along with lots of other supportive sales responsibilities. Having worked in the catering trade previously and as mentioned for my fathers business I am fully aware that customer service is paramount and thus take pride in providing the best possible customer service, every time, without fail.

After leaving college and whilst working for my father an opportunity arose to start my own temporary small business for 8 weeks over the festive period and into the New Year. I was given the opportunity to rent a market stall from the organisers of Chester’s Winter Wonderland on the Crown Court Car park. I immediately said yes to the opportunity grabbing it with both hands not knowing what I was going to sell on it, however after thought I decided that a county foods theme would go well especially coming up to Christmas, this included Christmas puddings, chutney’s, cheese’s, stuffing’s, soup’s and hampers for Christmas presents. This venture gave me an insight into running my own business from stock control to negotiating purchasing deals and costing. Overall it was a very successful venture generating just under £8,000 profit during the 8 week period.
