As Lead Global Legal Counsel at TikTok, I lead an expert team that focuses on complex Trust & Safety issues across the world, with a specialist focus on content regulation, law enforcement data disclosure requests, and content takedown issues.I have extensive experience in leading the implementation of cross-functional compliance programmes for emerging content regulatory requirements (including the EU's Digital Services Act, the EU and UK's AVMS Regulations and Online Safety Act, and the EU Terrorist Content Online Regulation, as well as a range of of others). I have deep subject matter expertise in EU and UK data protection / privacy law, including extensive experience in handling regulatory engagements on a wide range of privacy matters. I previously spent a number of years in private practice in the market-leading technology practice of a top Irish law firm, involving a secondment at a global technology company. During my time in private practice, I advised many of the world's largest technology companies, multinationals and financial institutions on all aspects of data protection compliance, including on product counselling and regulatory engagement.I am a graduate of both University College Cork (BCL (International) (First Class Honours)) and the University of Oxford (BCL). I have also completed the IP Summer School at Stanford Law School.
