MQFF provides emerging queer filmmakers with a $6,000 grant to create a short film for Quit Victoria, in a bid to encourage young people within the queer community to quit smoking. I was one of the successful applicants and created a 60 second narrative titled Stressless Sam. We budgeted the film well, giving us over $1,500 remaining which is now being used for writing my next project. When the four competing films were put up for public voting, Stressless Sam came second, winning a $3,000 cash prize.
