I'm currently working as R&D Technician in a new technical area inside of Polo de Inovação em Engenharia de Polímeros (PIEP). Our mission is to develop and implement solutions based on 4.0 and 5.0 industries with the digitalization and automation of existing processes. It has been a favorable environment for me to complement my skills and also develop new ones such as programming in various languages, programming robotic arms, developing LabView projects, and much more. I did my MSc in Physics Engineering at the University of Aveiro. Throughout my academic life, I have worked with different fields of knowledge, from optics, fibers, and optic sensors to electrical, structural, and morphological characterization of materials. For a while, I have worked at i3N (Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling, and Nanofabrication) at the University of Aveiro, where I characterized some composite materials for energy storage. During my master's, I developed cortisol and ammonia detection sensors based on optical interferometers conjugated with LIG (Laser-Induced Graphene), and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). I also acquired some experience with FBG (Fiber Bragg Gratings) and TFBG (Tilted Fiber Bragg Gratings). I consider that we should learn beyond what the degree has to give, for that reason, I participated in entrepreneurship and innovation programs like Seed Tech Transfer (UAcoopera) and YEP 5.0 (AIDA) where I developed my communication, leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills. I also think that we have a social responsibility, that is why I joined EPS (European PhysicalSociety) - Young Minds- Aveiro and I took part in various activities to promote physics. I'm also on the board of the cultural center of my hometown where we developed various activities to bring people together.
