During my studies of computer networking, I learned how to configure many types of network devices including, routers, switches, and firewalls. Along with studying different devices and how they function, I also learned about many different networking protocols. Throughout my time studying I was required to implement these protocols while working on a lab or project related to networking. During my time at school, I worked on quite a few projects that tested my knowledge of computer networking as well as my ability to implement what I had learned. The latest project I worked on before graduation required me to work in an environment that simulated an “HQ Site” with multiple branch sites connecting to the main site. There was also a site, off of the main site, that acted as an ISP, I was required me to configure BGP at this site. On the internal network I configured routing protocols such as; OSPFv2, OSPFv3, EIGRP, RIPng, I also configured static routes. Other protocols I had to implement included; VLANs, STP, VTP, HSRP, and EtherChannel. Aside from protocols, the projects also had me implement some other network related knowledge I had learned. Often times I had to create an IP scheme from scratch given an assigned IP address. While some of the lab work I completed had to be done individually, I also worked with a team during some of the bigger projects. The group projects allowed me to gain experience being a member of a team as well as being a team leader.While working as a custodian I've learned many valuable ;lessons that will help me in future jobs. These include being selected by boss to lead fellow employees when needed, i.e shift leader, working within a team to ensure all duties were completed on time and up to the expected standard, collaborating, with outside event managers to ensure proper setup/tear-down for events, and coordinating with teachers to determine their needs were properly met.
