•Assist in design and implementation of a study to monitor the effects of changes in dam operations on physical habitat and channel stability in the Elk River, TN and Bear Creek, AL under the TVA Operations Consultation Compliance Project. Included collecting, processing, analyzing, and interpreting geomorphic data.•Design and implement GIS for heritage program needs such as tracking/visualizing mussel surveys and resulting data, prioritizing natural resource for emergency response plans, and developing GIS models to streamline review and mitigation processes. Experience includes developing relational geodatabases within an ArcGIS framework and extensive experience with data management.•Assess impacts of TVA actions on wetlands, watercourses, and federally listed species in the TVA 7-state power service area. Assessments include extensive fieldwork performing hydrologic determinations, habitat assessments, and wetland delineations.•Prepare technical documents for NEPA, ESA, and TVA Act compliance for TVA-related projects including Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, Categorical Exclusions, Lands Management Plans, Biological Assessments, and 26a permits.•Provide support for TVA Threatened and Endangered Specialist and Aquatic Ecology Specialist.•Assist in threatened and endangered population surveys of fish, mussels, and plants.

•Prepare organisms for data analysis through taxonomic identification, slide preparation, sub sampling/extrapolation, and sorting.•Routinely identify benthic organisms (including insects, mollusks, crustaceans, and worms) to genus level.•Analyze biological data through mathematical and statistical procedures.•Update and maintain Microsoft access database of benthic data.

Funded by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to research relationships between total suspended solids and aquatic community health. Duties included set-up/maintenance of Global Water Data Loggers and site characterization using standard geomorphic assessment tools.

.Research assistantship funded by Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to assess the use of substrate metrics as a monitoring tool for TMDL standards. Duties included designing and implementing study, site characterization using standard geomorphic protocols, processing sediment samples in a laboratory setting, and analyzing/interpreting data using statistical packages for technical reports.
