Water Treatment Operator
Current- Operate facilities and processes in compliance with state and federal water quality regulations.- Control and monitor mechanical and chemical water treatment processes and distribution systems.- Regulate raw water sources, preliminary treatment, chemicals, sedimentation, filtration, and residual recovery.- Utilize SCADA instrumentation and data interpretation for continuous monitoring and issue resolution.- Plan, practice, and respond to emergencies, including power outages, chemical spills, and equipment failures.- Perform routine lab analyses and adjust treatment processes based on results.- Order, manage, and regulate treatment chemicals and supplies.- Assist maintenance staff and troubleshoot equipment and process issues.- Maintain facilities, including cleaning and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds.- Operate multi-zoned high-pressure water distribution systems and hydroelectric power stations.- Maintain logs and records of plant data, analyze trends, and use statistical tools.- Serve on safety, emergency response, design review, and treatment optimization committees; lead projects as needed.- Assist in developing the annual operations work plan and updating facility procedures.- Monitor and troubleshoot plant processes for maintenance and improvement of treatment quality.
