About Hunter Ball

I am a full-ride Martin Scholar and University Honors student attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in energy engineering and a minor in mathematics. I come from a rural background in the mountains of Western North Carolina, as well as being a first-generation student and the oldest of eight children. I am currently involved in multiple organizations on campus, such as being the EV Powertrain Team Lead for 49ers Racing Formula EV and a member of Charlotte Christian Students. I am certified in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor programs, as well as being knowledgeable in Creo Parametric, Siemens NX, Solidworks, BOUD, Maximo, ARGUS, Autodesk Vault, MATLAB, GrabCAD Workbench, and Kenesto Drive. My goals throughout my education are to study abroad, pursue summer engineering internship opportunities, and pursue an engineering cooperative education experience. My long-term goal is to pursue a career within the energy industry, specifically in customer delivery or renewables. My technical and hands-on background means that I have a passion for field work, while my creative and technological background means that I also have a passion for designing.
