As Operations Manager for British Columbia Occupational Health & Safety at Pinchin Ltd., I oversee a (growing) staff of 5, providing senior leadership and senior quality assurance, as I maintain and enhance quality control within the division. In addition to training, mentoring and supervising employees within the OHS division, I provide training for clients and client representatives. An important aspect of my role is liaising with clients, regulatory agencies and other professionals (including government entities and multinational private corporations), to develop and maintain positive relationships amongst stakeholders.I provide senior technical review on hundreds of project proposals, project strategy and reports annually, and am responsible for all aspects of project delivery and financial performance for OHS. I collaborate with other Pinchin disciplines, primarily Hazardous Materials and Indoor Air Quality, to offer clients a full suite of services for all their health & safety needs. I work closely with clients in property management, manufacturing, construction, education, government, and the health care sector, based in British Columbia.I have developed and/or reviewed hundreds of policies, programs, plans and procedures for a variety of health and safety topics, including industrial hygiene, general OHS, construction safety, air quality, confined space, chemical contaminants, noise, fall protection and respiratory protection. I have expertise in hazard/risk assessment, workplace safety auditing and OHS system element development, and have trained several hundred employees in a diverse range of safety subjects. Notably, I am a Qualified Person, as defined by provincial regulation, to conduct / develop hazard assessments and entry procedures for confined spaces.

As Senior Project Manager, I prepared proposals and negotiated contracts with prospective and existing clients. I developed various types of hygiene and health and safety documentation, including scopes of work, exposure control plans, emergency response plans and safety policies / operating procedures such as respiratory protection programs, confined space and fall protection. I trained and mentored OHS staff, as well as clients and client representatives.
