In every expression of my professional self, I identify first as a storyteller. By this I mean: I work to make apparent the dominant narratives that invisibly shape our personal experiences and collective imaginaries. My goal is to partner with people and organizations to envision freer worlds and more exciting and restorative ways of relating. I've had many different titles and roles, but the through-line of all these experiences has been my approach to storytelling. In past roles, I've served as a creative writing instructor, and as a mentor and advocate for underrepresented students; I've designed curricula and delivered workshops on equitable pedagogy; I led the installation of an Indigenous mural on a predominantly white University campus; I've helped nonprofit organizations understand and communicate themselves to funders in times of unprecedented need and levels of giving. All of this is storytelling to me. Each effort has been another iteration of my writing praxis, in community with other amazing storytellers and change makers.Today, I focus on helping individuals, teams and organizations navigate the changing field of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Justice, as it pertains to their unique missions and relationships. I'm interested in engaging with the discourses in this field, and even helping to shift the conversations altogether toward more liberatory possibilities. I hope to partner with you in pursuit of stories that can unburden the imagination and bring us to the better worlds that we know are available to us.
