Responsible for line management of 9 Clinical Trial Project Managers within the MAHSC-CTU, with responsibility for the training and day to day supervision of this team, including:• Planning and allocating resources to provide trial management support to a portfolio of single and multi-centre studies across a range of non-CTIMP and regulated CTIMP studies.• Assessing the quality and accuracy of the work of the Clinical Trial Project Management team and of performance and compliance against authorised project plans, relevant SOPs and clinical trial legislation.• Supporting and leading service improvements within the MAHSC-CTU as a whole.• General day to day line management responsibilities such as conducting Personal Development Reviews, attendance recording and monitoring, and managing any disciplinary and grievance issues• Providing and sourcing training for this group• Supporting this team in resolving any sensitive or contentious issues arising at investigator sites and third parties.• Participating and contributing towards trial adoption meetings and decisions, providing resource

Manchester Academic Health Science Centre Trials Coordination Unit

I am responsible for the coordination and management of a wide portfolio of clinical trials including:• A Phase II ATMP clinical trial across 5 EU states, • A multi-centre Phase I academic/commercial alliance CTIMP trial, • A Phase I advanced therapy trial run in coordination with the University of Manchester Cellular Therapeutics Unit, The current duties that I perform in this role are as follows:• Project Managing large, multi site, and international clinical research projects, involving wide multi-disciplinary collaborations. • Working with multi-disciplinary teams. Current examples of who I work with are clinicians, pathologists, research laboratory staff, drug manufacturers, research nurses, radiologists, radiographers, medical statisticians, health economists, data managers and trial coordinators.• Ensuring that the relevant regulatory and ethical approvals are in place for the clinical trials in my portfolio. This involves providing senior level administrative support to all relevant departments and institutions involved in delivering the research study, to ensure that all sites participating have the required approvals in place, such as MHRA, REC, local NHS permissions, ARSAC etc.• Managing activities for the relevant members of the research project team, including data managers, trial monitors, investigators and business planning, to produce the necessary essential documentation such as study protocol, patient information sheets, informed consent forms and study manuals are in place for the submissions. • Arranging and managing multi-site research activities. • Collaboration with commercial drug/ IMP suppliers . ranging form large multi-nationals such as AstraZeneca and GSK, to small advanced therapy manufacturers such as Adaptimmune and Cellular Therapeutics Limited.• Compiling reports for funders, regulatory authority/RECs, trial steering committees and internal divisional groups.

Coordinating clinical trials fro the Uro-Oncology team in various Phase I to Phase III clinical trials

Assisting in building and maintaining SQL based databases for Christie based research papers and data management for various MRC studies at The Christie for the Urology, Gastrointestinal and lymphoma Clinical Oncology teams.
