I ensure that Aberdeen City Council officers and external stakeholders receive the necessary support to secure external funding, prepare and submit financial reports, and continuously monitor projects to ensure compliance with funding requirements.Some of my key tasks include:• Conducting research to identify suitable grant funding opportunities for ACC and external organisations.• Meeting with internal and external stakeholders to determine their funding needs.• Preparing reports that outline suitable funding sources and advising stakeholders on which fund(s) to apply for while ensuring eligibility requirements are met.• Supporting the development of funding applications and sponsorship packages by drafting funding applications, contributing to the development of sponsorship packages, and preparing project budgets.• Maintaining accurate and robust project financial records by filing project documentation, collating evidence required to support project financial reports, and maintaining accurate records, databases, files, and documentation.• Contributing to the efficient and effective management and continuous improvement of monitoring systems and procedures, particularly with regard to external funded projects.• Providing support for membership development across City Growth assets.• Planning and organising project meetings, external funding events, and workshops.Overall, my role is essential to ensuring the successful execution of externally funded projects and providing valuable support to ACC officers and external stakeholders. In the year 2023, our training portfolio had expanded to include a diverse range of over 50 courses, catering to the professional development needs of companies throughout the North East of Scotland.In order to deliver high-quality training services to our members, I engaged in constant liaison with delegates and trainers, and ensured that all communication channels remained open and effective. As a point of contact for over 1000 companies which were members of the chamber, I strove to maintain a robust and efficient system of engagement, addressing their queries and concerns in a prompt and professional manner.Over the course of my tenure, I had been instrumental in achieving some significant milestones. Notably, I was responsible for organizing and executing the highly successful Employment Law Conference of 2022, which saw a turnout of over 100 attendees.Additionally, I played a pivotal role in running the 2022 training schedule, which began in March 2022 when I started my past position and concluded at the end of the year. This included coordinating logistics, ensuring trainer availability, and providing comprehensive support to the 575 delegates who attended our courses during this period.In conclusion, my work as a training coordinator had allowed me to take on a range of diverse and challenging responsibilities, and I was proud to have been able to contribute to the growth and success of our training program at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.
