PFI facilities Manager in education sector• Oversee a number of schools on PFI contracts delivering required infrastructure in a timely and safe manner ensuring that statutory legislation compliance is maintained. Includes oversight of hard and soft facilities management. • Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer management of a site that caters for over 200 staff and 2,000 pupils with an annual service and repair budget of over £1m • In addition to business-as-usual site management, oversight of successful build and fit out of new science block and sports hall (budget over £5m), extensive refurbishments of old primary school buildings removing one old canteen and replacing with 3 new Industrial kitchens, currently installing a new staircase and lift to that area to seat 750 children and refurbishment works during covid shutdown including strip out of 15 classrooms and conversion to new Art and Humanities teaching rooms• Providing advice on facilities provision and projects to the management team including the Chief Executive, Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team• Ensuring that the management of the site meets and complies with business management systems and objectives including environmental ISO14001• Responsible for site spend, including hard and soft facilities management, ensuring it is appropriately monitored and represents value for money• Planning best allocation and utilization of space and resources• Management of the procurement process for large-scale work and support services• Creation of business cases when additional funding is required• Directing, coordinating, and planning essential services such as reception, security, maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal and recycling• Project managing contractors to ensure minimum disruption to core activities• Ensuring all paperwork for external contractors is fully compliant and legal, any work completed is satisfactory, and follow up on any deficiencies• Reviewing all accidents on site, investigating, and reporting to RIDDOR to ensure safety on site• Keyholder with 24/7 access, responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and leading recovery, for issues such as power cuts and security alarms.

Key Skills • Management experience within a building service environment• Proven communication skills across the breadth of the organisation• Positive and flexible approach, displaying a ‘can do’ attitude, coupled with a good sense of humor• Formal training in Health & Safety (IOSH) including first aid and fire prevention and legislation/compliance• Ability to contribute to and manage major servicing contracts• Flexibility to work unsociable hours in emergencies• Proficiency in preparing and completing intricate projects within timescale and budgets
