I was engaged with the client in a Test Analyst capacity and he was to engage with Web Operations development in the creation of test cases and then the execution of these cases on 5 different browsers and 3 Operating Systems for the One Aviva project. One Aviva was the largest rebrand ever undertaken in the financial industry. Public feedback indicated that this was the slickest most smooth migration of a brand name change. In total there were 37 sites implemented over the last weekend in May with a further 16 micro sites, 1 regional site and 2 smaller sites all rebranded but not implemented. Out of these one site was a complete rebrand which is the number one regions site for the UK. Over 2800 pages have been rebranded and to test this 1380 test cases were created and were executed, this is approximately 26319 steps. In the execution stage I lead a team of 4.

I supported the Test Manager who was coordinating the testing of the Basel II implementation in the EMEA region. Testing took place in fourteen different countries and the Test Manager was responsible for coordinating the planning and test execution being carried out by each of them. My main tasks was the creation and administration of a Quality Center project in which all of the test scripts to be executed for each country were stored and their results recorded. Any Defects that occurred were recorded here. Quality Center was customized to follow the defect management lifecycle that the Test Manager had defined and this involved the creation of new fields, lists and specific user groupsI created a user guide in the form of a Word document with an accompanying presentation slide pack which I then delivered remotely to each country via the medium of an interactive net meeting. I created and provided a number of weekly reports that detailed test execution progress, defect age and defect severity.

As a Test Analyst, I generated and executed manual system tests for the CEMS system. The tests were created from a Business Specification and Technical Specification. The tests were created in MS Excel though once signed off by the Business they were exported into TestDirector 8.0.Defects were logged with evidence which was then sent to support for investigation and subsequent resolution. I was tasked with installing Mercury Quality Center 9.0 for the Client. The installation involved liaising with the client’s infrastructure and server support team to ensure that the product was correctly installed and could be easily maintained going forward.After the successful installation the application was tested to verify that all of the tasks within each of the four modules (Requirements, Test Plan, Test Lab & Defects) worked correctly. In addition I trained a team of 8 users in the use of Quality Center.Documentation was provided to the client detailing the installation and the project customization's made. The customization's included changes to project lists, user access, changes to workflow and changes to the Defect forms.4 weeks after the installation and training I returned to the client in late February for a 3 day period of time to provide further consultancy which resulted in further customization's that the client wished. All documentation was updated accordingly.

As Team Lead of the Tools and Automation team within Strategy Assurance and Change (SAC) I had the role of managing a team of 11 people which included HMRC & Cap Gemini permanent staff and contractors. Within SAC there were a number of projects and part of the role was to provide these with the materials and support to allow them to adopt the Tools strategy. The ultimate objective of the role was to have projects actively using tools and automation in line with the strategy, and for such use to show demonstrable benefits. As a Test Analyst, I generated and executed manual acceptance tests on BAU Systems and on new projects across the organisation’s three websites. On a weekly basis UAT Testing was conducted on fixes to Production issues through two different test proving environments before being released into the Live Environment. This involved close liaison with the Business owners, Developers and Support staff.In addition to the above, the organisation wished to create a regression pack of tests for different applications across the 3 (three) main websites of RMG. All applications across the websites needed to have regression tests created and my role was to work with Business Owners to identify which manual regression tests would be suitable for Automation.After identification, I created data-driven automated QTP scripts for a high number of applications, including Postcode Address Finder.The automated and manual scripts were all stored and managed within TestDirector.
