As a way to fund my University studies and lifestyle, I proudly set up a Weekly Electronic (House/Techno) Student Club Night at the iconic Sub Club in Glasgow. In the midst of academic studies, I spearheaded a venture that evolved from a £300 startup to a thriving student business with £155,000 in turnover per year.Navigating negotiations with Club proprietors and Music Agents, I brokered deals with national and international artists, including heavyweights like Disclosure, Bonobo, and Skream. Taking the Sub Rosa experience beyond Glasgow, I expanded our footprint across Scotland, orchestrating events in key cities such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Dundee — while maintaining my studies.At the helm of a dedicated team, I managed a diverse group of approximately 60 individuals, ranging from light and sound technicians to resident DJs, PR teams, and security personnel. Conducting weekly appraisals and morale-boosting meetings, fostering a collaborative and energetic work environment.Balancing the books was part of the daily routine, as I handled accounts, overseeing cash flow, managing overheads, and ensuring a healthy profit and loss statement.Data collection. I gathered customer data to gain valuable insights into our target market, using this information for both market analysis and fine-tuning our marketing strategies.I also organised a number of memorable co-production charity events, raising money for Glasgow food banks.
