South Africa

• As the transfer of Advanced Materials Production Processes from Weden (SEPRO) to Ireland (IEPRO) and South Africa (ZAPRO) drew to completion, I joined the ZAPRO Management Team to head AM Production Operations. Shortly.

• Active involvement in Site Management as a member of the Site Management Team
• Working with the senior team to drive key plant objectives
• Standing in for the GM while he is on secondment elsewhere in E6 (April 2018 to December 2019)
• Directly responsible for required production output, yield and cost across production operations

• This was a group role initially part of the Group Technical Team, formed to kick off Element Six’s World Class Manufacturing initiative. At the time I was appointed to the role the R&D Director was reluctant to let me.
• Developing the framework for E6 PCM and NPI systems and launching the PCM system into the main production plants
• Supporting numerous yield improvement initiatives in main sites, mostly in SEPRO
• Leading the documentation and transfer of acquired technologies from Megadiamond into E6
• Designing and implementing the process control system in PCD in SEPRO. This system was transferred to IEPRO and ZAPRO and has become the basis of the process control approached in all ZAPRO operations
• Active involvement in and supporting process problem solving and improvement in SEPRO as a member of that site’s leadership team during its final years of operation

From 2003, with the restructuring of the business around business unit lines, the idea of R&D programs was established. Initially, I was given the responsibility for the PCBN program, then Oil & Gas. I subsequently took on management of Plant R&D facilities and staff (R&D Node) as well as the R&D program, which meant I was leading a team covering the full.

Pointsman was a temporary role aligning elements of the overall R&D to Production to Customer supply chain across group functions in different geographical locations involving oversight and coordinated communication and flagging of issues along the chain. It was created to address a gap in overall structure and lasted until the structural issues were.
