Interpretation during protection interviews/counselling sessions of asylum seekers/refugees. When requested and with prior approval from the Protection Officer, to carry out interpretation for other UNHCR Offices/staff members and/or delegations of resettlement countries.

It's a challenging and exciting role, and I'm part of a small team, ensuring the organisation continues to deliver a high level of service voluntarily to clients without restrictions. I collect, review and draft applications and correspondence under the supervision and guidance of senior colleagues. Communicate case progress and status with client and team. Coordinate secure delivery of client correspondence and documents. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with shareholders. Provide day-to-day general support with all OISC Level 1 case related matters and maintain and update the electronic case management system.

I work as part of a team that provides an effective and efficient immigration support service for vulnerable members including EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals to help them with their EU Settlement applications for settled or pre-settled status in the UK. The service includes managing advice, information and digital support through telephone and digital channels. Maintain case records for follow-up, data retrieval, statistical monitoring, and reporting purposes. To ensure that all work corresponds with the systems and practices in place. To provide monthly and quarterly monitoring reports on specified databases as required.

I worked as an interpreter both remotely and in-person covering appointments, conferences, seminars, meetings, teleconferences, and symposia, providing interpretation between languages in consecutive moods. Help people meaningfully interact with professionals and access the vital services they need. I also translate documents and other materials on various subjects from one language to another.

As a migration researcher, I gathered current information about migration trends, rumours, policy, and news reactions to better understand how people make migration decisions. It also thoroughly understands the motivations and decision-making of potential migrants, as well as migration-related perceptions and rumours within the community.

As community researcher, I managed multiple social media pages posting daily news in the local language to educate potential migrants about the dangers of illegal migration, and empower them to make good, informed decisions. Specifically, encouraging people to understand the legal opportunities and prevent dangerous and risky illegal migration to Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand. Helping them to explore local opportunities and avoid being exploited, scammed, or trying to travelon false information and rumours.

I provided technical support to staff. Resolved technical hardware and software problems; installed and upgrades hardware, cables, operating systems, and/or appropriate software. I also facilitated new staff access to systems and referred to more complex or intractable problems to the manager.

This was an exciting role I worked in whilst studying at College.
