LifeLine Ambulance provides Critical Care Transport for high acuity patients. This transport team consists of a Registered Nurse and 2 Emergency Medical Technician. EMTs are responsible for all of the normal duties outlined under the EMT role and allowed to spike IV bags, prime the tubing, perform 12 lead EKGs, and assist the registered nurse as needed.

COPE Health Scholars are part of the patient care team at Riverside Community Hospital. We provide great patient care and assist nurses and other health care professionals with some tasks. We also advocate for patients and assist them in tasks such as performing basic hygiene, ambulating, bed making, and discharging.

As the Department Coordinator for D3 Medical Surgical floor, my role as a Department Coordinator was to teach and mentor the new health scholars. I ensured there was constant communication with the health scholars between the program and the health care professional staff. I served as an approachable leadership team member as they were training and getting.

Shadow surgeons of the Pediatric General & Thoracic Surgery (Dr. Peter Yu, Dr. Troy Reyna, and Dr. Laura Goodman). I observe patient care as surgeons discuss treatment plans with patient and families as well as learn about the procedures to treat some conditions in the operating room. As a CHOC Children’s Child Life Volunteer, I ensure a clean and safe environment for patients at CHOC Children’s Hospital to play in. We interact with patients, siblings, and parents by supervising and offering them activities.
