I started my working career as an apprentice electrician with British Steel Scunthorpe, qualifying as an Electrical Technician and have enjoyed several changes of career direction over the years until finally returning to the electrical trade.These days I can be found either in a classroom or the training workshop educating the future of our industry.Over previous years I worked as an electrician on predominantly Social housing projects in Scunthorpe, Wakefield and the tenants in the West Lindsey region. Moving on from this I moved into the role of Project manager and electrical QS/Duty Holder for Denton & Nickels in Doncaster where I was responsible, amongst other things, for overseeing all schemes of work for Sheffield City Council and the Sheffield Children's Hospital. Managing a range of projects from minor upgrades to major building works.I hold Qualified Supervisor status and am NICEIC registered Approved Contractor. Member of the IET, CHAS and safecontractor registered.Now I have moved on to a new chapter, taking on the role of trainer/assessor with North Lindsey College in Scunthorpe. My primary role is that of providing the "Full Cost" Delivery 18th Edition electrical regulations, Inspection and Testing, PAT Testing and a various range of electrical appreciation/awareness courses. Additional courses are currently being designed and i'm currently putting the finishing touches on some online training packages. When not in the classroom I am either to be found in the workshop or out carrying out NVQ reviews and visits on our apprentices, helping to improve the standards of electrical installation and develop the electricians of the future
