I have been working in the family Company for the most part following graduation from University. We design and manufacture a range of solutions to meet clients electrical automation needs in a range of sectors. My role encompasses a range of responsibilities in electrical manufacture, installation and maintenance as well as liaising with clients and managing relations with suppliers. As well as this I am also involved on site in the commissioning stage as well as in fault finding. Given the nature of small manufacturing Companies I have to be involved right the way along the production process. This involves me researching suppliers and drawing up lists of materials required for a job, placing orders, actually manufacturing the product and latterly installing and commissioning of the product.

I completed my formal training in Electrical through the family Company. I gained experience of domestic electrical installations during my Off the job phase 2 in GMIT as well as industrial installations on phase 4 also in GMIT. I completed my time in Sligo IT for Phase 6 where I gained a greater knowledge of PLCs and electrical controls.

I spent a year providing in-house English language tuition to employees of a number of Companies based in Moscow. In this role I taught English to corporate clients in Companies across a range of sectors, from software engineers in IT firms to Managers in Pharma-Chem companies. The aim was to ready clients for communications with native English speaking colleagues. I taught under contract to English First Corporate Language Training. This role enabled me to experience another culture and at the same time enhance my communication skills with people from different backgrounds.
