I was contracted by HPE to work for Asda in Leeds as a Senior Application Architect running a small team implementing a discovery project which involved discovering all assets across 3 data centres and analysing the data to allow the formulation of a migration plan.

As and independent Senior Consultant working on contract for HPE on a department of works and pensions project I was responsible for all aspects of the Asset Management solution. From requirements gathering to implementation. I am unable to go into more details due to official secrets act.

I was the Operations Manager of a shop that provides the services below.The store provides a one stop shop addressing issues with a persons back, feet and everything in-between. To name a few of there services we have a Diers 4D surface topology scanner which allows detail analysis of the spine, legs and feet. The shop has facilities to 3D scan a persons feet and then product custom make orthotics via our Amit milling system. There is also a wide range of comfort footwear to accommodate all foot types. On the side of prevention and general well being we supply a wide selecting of site stand desks and ergonomic.

As a senior consultant I have taken the lead and also worked on a number of large scale UCMDB, Asset Management, Discovery and full SACM implementations for a variety of companies, including Roche pharmaceuticals, Cooperative Financial Services, Country Wide, UPC Cablecom to name a few. These projects have ranged from ‘green field’ sites, to companies looking to either replace or augment existing systems and processes.A 'typical' project would involve requirements gathering and documenting, implementing the UCMDB, configuring it to work as per the requirement agreed with the client, integrating it to existing systems – such as SCCM, incident, problem, change and any other third party system required - , configuring and deploying discovery to the estate, analysing and modelling business services into UCMDB, testing all the component's and delivering training to clients.

Responsible for implementation test and implementation into live of major AssetCenter, DDMi and uCMDB developments. This included fault diagnoses and fix on all aspects of the product set. From the view point of development I was responsible for carrying out development that was scoped as being five days or less including configuration and securing AssetCenter, DDMi, DDMa, and uCMDB, developing new discovery patterns, customising existing patterns, creating and customising CI types, enrichment rules, applying service packs and DDMa content pack upgrades, creating and customising federation/replication adaptors and integration jobs, creating new application signatures, ConnectIt interfaces, DDMi scanner configuration, troubleshooting discovery issues. I also designed, built and implemented and web based monitor to allow the support team to see the status all the jobs across all the uCMDB probes from a single screen. As I am SM7 development trained and was also call on from time to time to help the SM7 team.

Carried out design and implementation of new systems into service within the Bank and the maintenance and enhancements of existing systems such as ESP (an in house web based bank wide service and order system), Business Objects and a variety of in house applications. Most of the applications are web based and run within the AIX landscape. One of my largest pieces of work was the upgrade of the underlying ESP Oracle 8i database to an Oracle 10g system.

Carrying out design, build and implementation work for Peregrine products (ServiceCenter, AssetCenter, Enterprise Discovery and ConnectIt), UNIX scripting and a variety of other technologies. I was heavily involved in the development of the existing ServiceCenter Product from an interface viewpoint. I was also responsible for an initial prototype install and evaluation of Enterprise Discover.

Worked on various interfacing developments between Siebel 99 and internal web based systems and third party suppliers. Customisation of Siebel 99 and DBA support on Oracle.

Worked as part of the Live System Support (LSS) Team, which was responsible for the administration of the Barclays branch platforms. Due to my Ingres development and DBA experience I also carried out Ingres problem diagnosis and rectification.My secondary role was the development of automated systems and scripts that were used by first line support to aid them in the diagnoses and rectification of faults. The majority of these where client/server applications written in Visual Basic 6.

Carried out the day to day running and maintenance of the Co-operative retail services (CRS) Ingres, Informix and SQL server databases and the UNIX systems that they where on. This included new installations, upgrades and porting to new platforms. Due to the size of some of the databases I was required the write C programs that took database unloads and generate reports from them. This greatly increased the speed of the reports. Other work involved the analysis and optimization of SQL contained in CRS’s existing CAOpenroad applications. The post also has a support element, where we handled client calls relating the Openroad, ODBC and database problems.

ABM Ltd develop criminal and justice systems for Police and security agencies. I was jointly responsible for all the company's technical policies, approval of product design and prototyping of new products. My role also included a lot of research and development. One of my major projects was the creation of a data repository and search engine that used PowerBuilder 6 to build dynamic HTML web documents from multiple data sources.

Responsible for ABM’s Police custody system, this had been developed in PowerBuilder 4 (the RDBMS was Informix Online 7.1). The application needed conversion to PowerBuilder 5. As Team Leader I was responsible for the documentation, quality of code, testing and release of the produce and also the day to day running of the team.

Worked as part of a four-person team redesigning and implementing a large-scale asset tracking system on an Ingres database.

Working on a computer controlled RF simulation rig (for generating test signals to be used against RADAR early warning avionics equipment’s

working on a variety of projects including real time assembler based software.

Maintained, programmed, administered and carried out day to day user support on a Dataflex database. The job also included taking part in the introduction of new technology (a 200 machine PC network using PC/NFS) into the work place to take over from the existing Equinox terminal based system.

Trained and worked on a wide range of aircraft avionics equipment’s. Carried out fault finding and repair of electronic equipment down to component level
