 Direct oversight of 18 employees.  Areas I supervised: ED registration, Breast Center Registration, Breast Center Scheduling, the scheduling and registration for the Centre for Behavioral Health, Registration and scheduling of outpatient Physical Medicine.  Increased point of service collections in direct reporting areas by 20%. Helped grow point of service collections by 15% from FY 15 to FY 16.  Lead multiple process improvement projects in the insurance authorization department and centralized scheduling department that resulted in a 73% increase in collections prior to the day of service.  Streamlined the patient registration process in the Emergency Department to reduce rework and waste of motion.  Created new onboarding process for all new Patient Access Associates that has resulted in better job competencies and less retraining with highest level of quality in the operating group. Assisted in growing the department from two areas of registration to eight areas which created a streamlined, standardized process for registration across the entire campus.

 Worked in close collaboration with the leadership teams of other departments to promote synergies on projects and initiatives. Provided transitional leadership and oversight to the scheduling, health benefits, and cashier department.  Provided onboarding for all new hires in the Patient Access department.  Perform quality assurance audits on accounts to ensure the accurate completion of pre-registrations and registrations in the Patient Access and decentralized registration departments.  Maintain dashboards to track and report multiple metrics to the leadership teams of multiple departments.  Assist leadership of Patient Access in identifying areas and improving processes to maximize efficiency of the department.  Participate in multiple process improvement events to shape the work flow of every area in Patient Access. Implement and track compliance with multiple hospital wide initiatives.  Underwent Lean A3 and process improvement training. Attended multiple supervisor and emotional intelligence trainings both internally and externally.

 Maintained the scheduling system: ensured the schedule is up-to-date with no conflicting appointments. Maintained a pre-registration accuracy rate of 97% or higher. Demonstrated the importance of quality and integrity of captured patient information with regards to patient confidentiality. Demonstrated a working knowledge of medical insurances and the financial responsibility for the patient.  Accurately scheduled patient exams in a timely and professional manner. Responsible for all incoming lines, handled numerous specialty calls, initiated calls to providers. Acquired accurate knowledge of all outpatient tests. Gave instructions for all tests, especially those that require a special prep. Performed the pre-registration process through timely, accurate and courteous completion of patient clinical and financial data by phone. Maintained the pre-registration standards and educated patients prior to arrival on directions to the hospital and internal departments, patient portion, registration process, and any documentation needed.  Assisted leadership with completing multiple reports during a transition period. During this time I maintained accuracy reports for the entire Patient Access department, ensured compliance with all Medicare guidelines in regards to the accurate completion of the Medicare secondary payer questioner.
