CurrentSince joining HWC my role has evolved to incorporate more than PHP development, my roles include Full Stack Developer (Windows, IIS, MySQL/SQL, PHP), IT Support & Procurement, System Administrator, Infrastructure & System Security Engineer. Within my Developer role I have been involved with designing system processes, development, troubleshooting and debugging on almost every major project & client system HWC has produced & am equally happy using MS SQL Server or MySQL databases. I am the lead developer for the MAR compliance application using the latest versions of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML & CSS to build, enhance & maintain the systems.As a System Administrator I am responsible for managing & maintaining all aspects of the company's server infrastructure & cloud systems working with Rackspace, IONOS and most recently trialling Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Part of my role is increasing system operating efficiency & adapting to new requirements and technology while ensuring systems can be easily scaled & costs are controlled.I have also been brought in to assist in various projects both internal ICT & working with clients or third-party providers including hosting/infrastructure migrations, database migrations, application integrations, troubleshooting & infrastructure design/deployment.I am the main technical contact for several clients & often liaise with IT departments and/or project managers from clients such as Vodafone, WPP & Barclays to manage hosting, infrastructure, application integrations & security reviews. I have also written and maintained documentation, procedures, and SQL scripts for system deployments by client IT teams.I work in a Security Engineer capacity internally & with third party providers for application penetration testing, server hardening, security polices/documentation & procedures, & security. I take a lead in making recommendations for change to the business surrounding IT security best practices and policies.
