I love puzzles. Not your run-of-the-mill cardboard pieces that only fit together in a certain orientation, but more complex puzzles, from Rubik's cubes all the way to a car. This is what originally hooked me with the concept of programming in middle school, and I've been teaching myself concepts since then. I taught myself C++ first, learning the basics of programming and memory management. After that I started branching out to other languages like Java, Python, and C#; just to see if there was any benefits to them. Most recently I have been studying with Coding Dojo to learn fullstack web development. Starting with basic frontend development(HTML, CSS, JS) and working through backend development with Flask(Python) and Spring(Java) and MySQL for database management. I created full web applications in both Flask and Spring in a solo development setting and I was a part of a group project where we used Spring.For this group project we had a week to think of a project and make it a fully functioning web application. It required lots of strategizing, segmentation of the work, and cooperation between all of us in order to get this project done on time. We ended up getting our Pet Rescue Site created with two days left before the deadline. Attending Coding Dojo was a huge learning experience for me since it showed me what the real workforce is going to be like. It showed me how to learn new technologies and apply them in a real way, how to cooperate with other people in order to complete a task, and most importantly how to ask for help.I'm hoping that I will get to exercise these skills that I have spent so much time learning and honing, so that I can make other people's lives easier with the help of technology.
