• Work independently, with other Environmental Sampling Technicians, and with clients outside in all weather conditions.• Obtain groundwater and soil samples while adhering to EPA protocols and client standards.• Operate field meters, such as YSI Professional Plus flow cells, Myron L Ultrameters to measure water parameters.• Extract groundwater from monitoring wells, while safely using electronic submersible pumps, peristaltic pumps, passive diffusion bags, HydraSleeves, bladder pumps, and other sampling equipment.• Collect precise and accurate field data. • Repair and troubleshoot malfunctioning tools and equipment. • Utilize paper and electronic site maps to locate monitoring wells, soil sample points, and potential job site hazards.• Lead and attend tailgate safety meetings.• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Supervisors, and clients.

The Senior Operations Associate reports to the Senior Assistant Director, Recreation Operations and Student Initiatives and is responsible for the overall supervision of the facilities, participants, programs, and staff for the Department of Recreational Sports. The Senior Operations Associate has oversight of Operations Specialists and Associates, along with Operations Staff. They are the leadership link between Department programs, facilities and administrative staff and are expected to foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration among all student staff and programs.

Operations Specialists and Operations Associates are responsible for knowing and enforcing the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for all facility and program areas within the Department of Recreational Sports. The Operations Specialist/Associate is responsible for ensuring the staff she or he works with in the absence of Administrators is knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and consistent. The Operations Specialist/ Associate is in charge of the entire facility and responsible for supporting all program areas.
